Parent Sessions

Through this series of workshops, parents are exposed to skills and knowledge that they may use to bolster their children's developmental curve. We aim to strengthen the parent community in becoming collaborative partners in schools' mission to educate children.

  1. Making reading fun (Parents of Preprimary/ Primary aged students)
    Reading as a knowledge seeking experience, understanding key reading skills, development of reading skills through different age groups, creating family interactions that nurture reading environments, supporting school based assignments

  2. Early stimulation for brain and body (Parents of Preprimary/ Primary aged students)
    Developmental needs and processes, balancing the growth curve, home based play activities to enhance all rounded development

  3. Nurturing emotional health in children (Parents of Preprimary/ Primary / Middle school aged students)
    Understanding emotional health, essential characteristics of an emotionally healthy child, importance of early stimulation and deliberate nurturing, parent-child interactions that bolster emotional health among children

  4. Language development: Why and how (Parents of Preprimary/ Primary aged students)
    Defining language development, its relationship to academic skill acquisition, influence of home based interactions, strategies to nurture long lasting language skills

  5. Partners in child's education (Parents of Preprimary/ Primary / Middle school aged students)
    Understanding collaboration, elements of healthy parent-teacher interactions, importance of continuous dialogue, assisting the child's learning
